Before we jump into nitty gritty details, let’s make sure we’re on the same page as to how Printful works + some of the benefits of adding it as a print on demand extension of your eCommerce business.

  • Printful itself is free! You don’t have to pay any monthly subscription fees or set up costs and there are no order minimums. (Note: there is a paid subscription level on Printful, I just don’t think that 99% of people need it!)

  • Because everything is made on demand and nothing is made in bulk, you can feel free to test drive designs & products without any upfront investment costs, no inventory to store and no worries that you’ll be left holding the bag if something happens to be a flop. (Hey, it happens!)

  • When a customer places an order on your site, they’ll pay you directly and in full. You’re free to markup the products that Printful will be making as much or as little as you want - you’re in complete control! Remember, it’s not just the product cost itself that matters - it’s your design and style that people are willing to pay for!

  • The integration between Squarespace and Printful will automatically pull the order info from your customer into Printful which means that from here you’re pretty much hands off completely! Printful will charge you the wholesale cost of the product your customer ordered (plus shipping and taxes) and take care of production, fulfillment and shipping.

Now that you have a rough overview of how things work, I’ll show you how to set up your Printful account, create new products, and sync them to your Squarespace store. We’ll also look at how to personalize everything so your customers won’t even realize Printful was the middleman!
